Light changes everything
A colour that looks warm in the store can turn cold in a north-facing room, and a soft grey can read beige next to oak floors. We look at your room's light, floors, cabinets and furnishings and help you narrow down shades that will work in the space you actually live or work in.
Picking the right sheen
Sheen affects how a colour looks and how well the surface stands up to cleaning. A quick general guide:
| Finish | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Flat / matte | Ceilings and low-traffic walls — hides surface imperfections best. |
| Eggshell | Living rooms and bedrooms — soft look, easier to wipe than matte. |
| Satin | Hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms — more washable for busy areas. |
| Semi-gloss | Trim, doors, cabinets and bathrooms — durable and easy to clean. |
Accent walls and two-tone rooms
Dark accent walls and two-tone kitchens are some of our favourite projects — see an office accent wall and a blue kitchen island in our gallery.

Colour Consultation FAQ.
Can you help me choose colours for my whole home?
Yes — we can help you pick colours that flow from room to room as well as individual statement walls.
What paint finish should I use in a kitchen or bathroom?
Satin or semi-gloss finishes are usually preferred in kitchens and bathrooms because they are more washable and moisture-resistant than flat paint.
Do you do colour consultation for businesses?
Yes. Colour advice is available for offices, retail and other commercial spaces too.
